DC Comics Icons: SHAZAM! Action Figure (2017) - Canceled

Back in 2016, DC Collectibles solicited a new entry in their DC Comics Icons action figures line: SHAZAM!. The solicitation images showed a 6" figure based on the New 52 iteration of Captain Marvel (renamed SHAZAM!). The figure would have made for a nice companion piece for the previously released Black Adam (also a part of the DC Comics Icons line).  

DC Comics announced at the end of March 2017 that the SHAZAM!, Deadshot, and Sinestro figures were canceled.

The only remnants of DC Comics Icons: SHAZAM! action figure are its solicitation text and image.

Solicitation

By uttering the magical words "Shazam!" ordinary teenager Billy Batson is transformed into one of the World's Mightiest Mortal [sic]! Now you can harness this power with this 6" action figure from DC Collectibles! Complete with interchangeable hands and lightning accessories and dozens of points of articulation, no Justice League collection is complete without Shazam!

Box dimensions: 1.5 x 0.75 x 6 inches
Weight: 1 lb.
On sale: August 2017 (due to cancelation, the figure never reached market).

Accessories

3 sets of hands: Closed fists, open hands (to hold the book, presumably), hands with lightning bolts.
Book opened to pages with the Shazam Elders' names and powers inscribed.

Walt Grogan notes: I prefer the New 52 version with the hood down as seen in this figure. I also like the Kirby Krackle or Dots as it makes the lightning bolt pop a little. The addition of the book as an accessory seems an interesting choice since the Elders did not figure into the New 52 Shazam's storyline other than in his origin as an announcement of where he got his powers from.

Lightning keeps striking as Captain Marvel, er, SHAZAM! returns in a new 4-issue mini-series this July! Written by Teen Titans Academy writer, Tim Sheridan, and drawn by Clayton Henry -- the four issue series takes Billy on a wild adventure without help from a missing Wizard or his adopted family (who can't change into their own Shazams)! DC Direct Deluxe Action Figures - SHAZAM! - Deluxe Action Figure Set (2000)

DC Direct, a subsidiary of DC Comics, started releasing action figures of DC characters and super heroes in 1998. It wasn't until 2000, that the first DC action figure of Captain Marvel was released along with his alter ego, Billy Batson. Packaged in a large, four-color window box and containing multiple accessories including a diorama stand complete with a thunderous sound effect, this was a set worth waiting for. Both the sculping of Captain Marvel and Billy Batson were based on their very first adventures in Whiz Comics and the Captain Marvel figure seemed to be sculped directly from the splash panel in Whiz Comics #2 ! WHIZ COMICS #2 - Splash Panel While the sculptor sculped a larger face, flipped the cape (presumably so that Captain Marvel's left arm could move freely), designed a larger lighting bolt, and added the sash, he/she kept the tipped head and the orientation of the boots as well as the button flap.
