DC Direct, a subsidiary of DC Comics, started releasing action figures of DC characters and super heroes in 1998. It wasn't until 2000, that the first DC action figure of Captain Marvel was released along with his alter ego, Billy Batson. Packaged in a large, four-color window box and containing multiple accessories including a diorama stand complete with a thunderous sound effect, this was a set worth waiting for. Both the sculping of Captain Marvel and Billy Batson were based on their very first adventures in Whiz Comics and the Captain Marvel figure seemed to be sculped directly from the splash panel in Whiz Comics #2 ! WHIZ COMICS #2 - Splash Panel While the sculptor sculped a larger face, flipped the cape (presumably so that Captain Marvel's left arm could move freely), designed a larger lighting bolt, and added the sash, he/she kept the tipped head and the orientation of the boots as well as the button flap. Is Mister Mentor, the wizard Shazam?

Fall 1974 was an exciting time for fans of the original Captain Marvel as a live action Saturday morning TV show premiered on September 7. The show starred 31-year-old, relative newcomer Jackson Bostwick as The Big Red Cheese himself, Captain Marvel, 23-year-old Michael Gray as Cap’s alter ego, Billy Batson, and 61-year-old veteran actor, Les Tremayne as Mister Mentor or simply “Mentor” as he was often called. Taking a “vacation” from his job at radio station W.H.I.Z ( the call letters never explicitly stated in the series), Billy is joined by Mentor, who drives an Open Road motor home around various suburbs, ranches, horse farms, construction sites, grocery stores, mining facilities and national parks of Los Angeles in search of various children and young adults who need help. Man of Miracles - Action Figure - McFarlane Toys (2006)

By Walt Grogan The Marvel Family, and particularly, Captain Marvel, produced some offshoots (sometimes unwittingly) -- one of which was Marvelman , who begot Miracleman, and who begot Man of Miracles. Man of Miracles is a character in Todd McFarlane's Spawn Universe. Man of Miracles is loosely based on the Miracleman character created by Alan Moore and Garry Leach (and shares the secret identity name of Mike Moran). Man of Miracles debuted in Spawn #150. Although it was marketed as an action figure, the Man of Miracles is best described as a painted statue with a few points of articulation. The is limited neck movement, his wrists move and there is movement at the waist and that's it.
